HOW SAFE IS YOUR HOME?
GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) Outlets
GFCI outlets are code required and a valuable safety device. The National Electrical Code requires GFCI outlets in bathrooms, kitchens, garages, exterior areas, crawl spaces, unfinished basements, near wet bars, swimming pools and spas.
TAMPER RESISTANT OUTLETS (TRO)
TRO's are currently required by the National Electrical Code on new homes and renovations. They provide another layer of safety to your home.
SMOKE DETECTORS
Smoke detectors are vital life saving safety equipment. Florida building code requires detectors be interconnected; to cause all detectors to sound if one is triggered, or to be integrated into a fire alarm or security system.
Switch and Receptacle Upgrades
Upgrading your existing switches and receptacles is not only a cosmetic upgrade, but over time they will get worn and loose and could eventually create a hazard. Changing out worn devices is a good practice. There are also devices available with internal USB ports as well as surge suppression capability.
